Training in Norfolk & Waveney
From August 2017 the three, long established GP Speciality Training Schemes in Norfolk are merging to form the Norfolk GPSTS scheme.
Where would I be training?
The majority of our individual training programmes have hospital posts based between The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and one of the James Paget University Hospital and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
There are some individual training programmes where the hospital posts are solely based in one hospital (JPUH, QEH or NNUH)
Each ITP is linked to pairs of GP training placements in geographically appropriate pairings

STP Opportunities
GP Recruitment Bursaries 2018
All of the posts on the scheme for February 2018 are eligible for the TERS (Targeted Enhanced Recruitment Scheme) bursary payment.. Please see HEE Website (Link) for further details of the scheme. The individual training placements eligible for these bursaries are shown on our Choose Great Training Placements (Link) pages.
Shortened Programme Training
2.5 Year GP Training with Transferable ST Competencies
It is now possible to transfer up to 6 months of appropriate ST training and shorten your GP training.

4 Year Academic GP Training
The Norwich STS has one academic GP placement available on the Scheme in conjunction with the UEA School Of Medicine.
4 Year Global Health Fellowship
The Scheme also encourages applicants interested inthe 4 year Global Health Fellowship scheme which includes the opportunity to work overseas in a resource poor rural South African community
