Staithe surgery is a rural training and dispensing practice with a list size of around 7545 patients, working from an excellent purpose built surgery in the small market town of Stalham. We cover a fairly wide area, and see a large number of holiday visitors, as we are fortunate to live and work in a beautiful part of the country, close to the Norfolk Broads and 5 miles away from the coast with its lovely beaches. With the many resources available at the surgery, we aim to provide medical care of the highest quality.

We have a diverse group of friendly, professional and administrative staff working very closely together as a team. We all meet frequently on an informal basis, and also have more formal regular meetings throughout the practice to discuss relevant issues and plan surgery policy. The partners meet regularly and enjoy an excellent and mutually supportive working relationship. We feel good communication at all levels within the practice is vital, as it enhances the quality of patient care, efficiency and the satisfaction we derive from our work.

As a practice we have always tried to take advantage of changes in the Health Service for the benefit of our patients. As we are 18 miles from the nearest hospital we try to be self-sufficient as possible by providing many services within the surgery.

We have one established Trainer, Dr Ben Harris and one Associate Trainer, Dr Satish Singh, but all partners and staff make a positive contribution to registrar training and experience during their placement at the surgery.

Our registrars have their own room with access to our clnical system, SystmOne. They have two tutorials a week, one on an individual basis with one of our trainers and the other is a joint tutorial, which is shared between us and Stalham Green & Ludham Surgery. Registrars run their own clinics and also help out with the emergency clinic. A half day a week is provided and also time for Study/Audit is also given once a week.

We consider ourselves to be a well-motivated, friendly, forward thinking practice. Working in pleasant surroundings, with colleagues we value, allows us to enjoy our medicine in a mutually supportive atmosphere
